Brutal Construction
Over the past 2 years, the Brutal team has provided general construction support across a number of projects within the Richmond, Williamsburg and Hampton regions of Virgina, USA.
These specific projects include the Hydro, The Box, The Waterford, The Constellation on King and The James on Merimac. Whilst the owner’s team was reasonably consistent across these projects, the scope, general contractor’s teams and sub-contractors were all different.

Brutal Pre-Development
The Brutal team has been involved in a number of projects over the past 12 months, where a varied degree of site preparation has been required. This has ranged from minor and select utility relocation at a project in The Fan district of Richmond, through the design of a complete utility relocation project for a future development in Hampton, to a couple of demolition projects in Manchester.
These pre-development projects have involved outside consultants, remediation and demolition contractors, public utility personal and private utility design engineers. A couple of key components of all of these pre-development projects is cost, speed of execution and completeness of site preparation as all of these either set the project up for success or failure.

Brutal Specialist
An area where Brutal has recently shifted focus, is one where bespoke opportunities and projects are being pursued where prior experience of the team has application either directly or indirectly.
Three such opportunities already being explored are:
- The opening of an entertainment centre to complement what has been done by Kimbercross in South Africa.
- Further development of relationships in the green energy generation space into the US market through prior relationships developed across mining projects on the African continent.
- The preliminary entry into the carbon capture sphere through the potential practical implementation of technologies proven in mining sphere into the carbon capture environment.
It is Brutal’s desire to expand this offering into the future – watch this space!
